Hey Jude Video
Song Background: McCartney wrote to comfort Lennon's son, Julian, after Lennon left his wife for Yoko Ono
The song was popular not only because of the beautiful melody and harmonics but because it was the longest song at the time at roughly 8 minutes.
The chorus is repeated 19 times
I noticed they were very upbeat and assertive with their own performance. I could feel a sense of pure enjoyment in their gig that makes me like them more, as well as the song. Overall, the performance was very unique and I am thoroughly fond of the whole video.
The main key of the song is in F Major
I wonder if the song is really written to comfort Lennon's son. This is because the title of the song has the word 'Jude' in it so I am pondering about what's that about.
That song makes me feel nostalgic and buoyant when listening to it. I can see why this is a comfort song because it cheers up an individual's mood, causing all your worries to go away when you hear it. I really like the melody and the originality of the song, which is one of the main reasons why I would definitely add this song to my playlist.
Hey Jude, don't make it bad
Take a sad song and make it better
Remember to let her into your heart
Then you can start to make it better
Hey Jude, don't be afraid
You were made to go out and get her
The minute you let her under your skin
Oh-oh-oh, and anytime you feel the pain
Hey Jude, refrain
Don't carry the world upon your shoulders
For well you know that it's a fool
Who plays it cool
By making his world a little colder
Hey Jude, don't let me down
You have found her, now go and get her
Remember to let her into your heart
Then you can start to make it better
So let it out and let it in
Hey Jude, begin
You're waiting for someone to perform with
And don't you know that it's just you
Hey Jude, you'll do
The movement you need is on your shoulder
Hey Jude, don't make it bad
Take a sad song and make it better
The minute you let her into your heart
Then you can start to make it better
Better, better, better, better, better, whoa, yeah!
Na na na na, na, na na na na, yeah
Then you begin to make it better
