A disorder In one or more of the basic psychological processes involved in understanding or In using spoken/written language that may portray Itself as the Imperfect ability to listen, think, speak, write, read, spell or do numerical calculations. Condition causing specific learning disabilities may be perceptual disabilities, brain Injuries, dyslexia, minimal brain dysfunction, and developmental aphasia. This does not Include learning problems that have primary causes such as hearing loss, vision loss, motor disabilities, Intellectual disabilities, emotional disabilities, or of environmental, cultural, or economic disadvantage.
Basically, a specific learning disability has a cause that does not relate to another problem (such as vision loss). This disability has a primary cause that is defined and a diagnosis can be made. This disability does not fit the description of any other categories.
