- - - - They may : say they’ve noticed some suspicious activity, say you must confirm some personal information, want you to click on a link to make a payment, offer a coupon for free stuff
      - Log into the real website of the "company" instead of clicking the link (ex. your hulu account has expired, check the actual website).
      - Protect your accounts by using multi-factor authentication
- - - - Install an anti-virus software and keep it updated at all times
      - When you do download software, read the end user license agreement before installing
      - Don't click on any pop-up or advertisement, its best to access the real website.
- - - - Use strong, memorable passwords
      - Keep all softwares up to date
      - Install a pop up ad blocker, this will decrease the chances of obtaining a virus
      - Try to notice the sings of infection, includes; Repeated error messages unexpected shutdowns, computer is very slow, takes too long to shut down or restart.
- - - - Never open an attachment or run a program sent to you in an email from someone you don’t know/ completely trust
      - Make sure a Trojan antivirus is installed and working on your computer
- - - - Regularly back up your important files
      - Use a firewall to prevent it ( firewalls are used to protect users from viruses)
      - To remove a computer worm, simply get a antivirus software and run a scan for computer virus and worms.
