Belvedere ES, These 3 groups do not know about the PYP or the Enhancements…
Belvedere ES

Early Years Staff
Preschool Team
Instructional Assistants - Informational: the IAs in Preschool take specific instruction from their teachers so they do not have much instructional choice.
Teachers - Management: The Preschool teachers have specific programs they run for the county and state. They work hard to do their requirements through the PYP so changes can be a concern for them.
Kindergarten Team
Teachers - Collaboration: the Kinder team was thrilled to see clarity around play and the ATLs. They are excited to work together to develop changes.
Instructional Assistants - Consequence: The IAs in Kinder are a big part of ensuring that our K classes function and that students get help. They will want clarity around the enhancements.

Families who attend Belvedere because it is their neighborhood school. - Informational: Our families are interested in learning about the PYP. Student-led conferences have helped explain to parents through their student's work and discussions more about the program.

For Grades 1-4 The reason for consequence is the same. The teachers know the power of teaching at an IB school but are concerned about what the changes mean for them and their students.
The Spanish teacher, Librarian and Art Teacher are all on our pedalogical team and have helped us consider how we can implement the enhancements school wide.
The English Language Teachers, Reading and Math Coaches and the PYP Coordinator are all Collaboration for the same reason. They excited to work together to implement the enhancements as best practices at our school.
This team needs to be aware of changes around the Learner and Learning Environment that might impact choices the team makes when making recommendations. They also support multiple other schools that are not PYP
I want to find out more about how our school might learn more about our families interest and feelings about the PYP and the Enhancements. It can be hard to find a way to engage our families in a common way so we may need to consider multiple avenues to learn more about their thinking.
I would like to ask what they hope their students will get from attending an IB school and what their expectations are for how the school can better share the learning that is happening.
I wonder what expectations each of the levels have on me as the coordinator.
I would love to ask the collaboration people what they need from me so that they can better share their ideas and excitement with the school.
I would love to ask the consequence people how they might like to clarify their concerns about the impacts the enhancements will have.
I would like to ask the management people how they like to get information. Do they prefer learning big picture first? Do they like seeing examples?
