INVESTIGATE A COUNTRY AND DO AN ORAL PRESENTATION ABOUT IT AS IF YOU WERE IT'S REPRESENTATIVE

SESSIONS
5th session
Prepare the Power Point presentations in groups
Take a picture of each student pointing at their countries
2nd
session
Choose a country per person from the chosen continent. Students should choose a country that they want their classmates to know more about. Mark your choice on the map.
Finish the world map
Brainstorming of things you know about that country individually and put it in common with the group.
1st session
Create a world map (huge paper and colours)
Introduction to the topic
Division of the class into 5 groups according to the number of continents. State a representative who will draw the silhouette of the continents. The rest of the group will help from the desks.
3rd session
Prepare the written text of the country.
It should include:
A historical fact
An aspect learned in Social Studies
A typical ingredient or dish
A typical tradition
A cultural site
Something else
A piece of music
6th session
Presentations in groups
Finish preparing the power points
7th session
Presentations of the rest of the groups
4th session
Keep working on the written project
2. TOPIC
Topic justification

There's a need to improve how quickly they identify the important information about a topic
Topic characteristics
It fosters a question that people ask in the real world, so it's purposeful, thought provoking and challenging, it leads to more questions and it encourages all students to participate. It is also open-ended, objective, and calls to students' previous knowledge.
It integrates a variety of disciplines that require research, investigation and reflection, as well as problem solving skills.
It is product-oriented and a little bit role-oriented (each student will act as a representative of the selected country).
3. CHALLENGE
Identify and find a piece of art from the Renaissance for each country
If it is the case, justify why there are no Renaissance pieces of art in their countries and find a museum of that country that holds pieces of art from the Renaissance
4. PRODUCTS
Intermediate product

Oral discussion to decide what to put in the presentation

Oral presentation (acting as an ambassador for their chosen country

To be able to do an oral presentation with the support of digital tools such as Power Point, and include facts about different topics related to their country.
To be able to successfully look up information, filter this information to understand what is relevant and what is irrelevant with the help of a laptop.
