Does Mrs. Plum and her daughter really treat the black people equally? I do not completely agree. They are a lot better than other white employers, I am sure. However, when dealing with sensitive issues, they still identify themselves as very different from black people.

I always thought the US is a just country, but Smith's work tells a different story. It could be quite disappointing to witness or experience such things. It reminds me of the Floyd's tragic case. :

I am fascinated by this topic in class because I was not given a lot of opportunities to understand other sexual identities or orientation before because this topic is not as open in China as in the US. It opens a new gate for me and helps me to better understand LGBTQ people's struggles.
