HUMANISM
LEARNING
THEORY
ABOUT
~The focus is on the individual
~LEARNING is a natural process that helps a person to reach SELF actualization.
~It is viewed as a personal act to fulf one's protection.
~It is making sure that every childs needs are catered for.
APPLICATION
Reward effort more than outcome when doing class activities
Know the type of learner you have in class and how they react to LEARNING: Lessons should incorporate different learning styles to cater to each learner.
Chat to the children: make time during break to have a chat with the learners about everything besides classwork. Show interest in their lives.
Reward Personality Traits: Praise a learners skills even before they begin with a task. Doing that motivates them to do even better in class.
Children as Carers: Give the learners a chances to take care of other learner in class. If one learner is not feeling well, assign one in class to have a chat with them.
Attached below is a video that gives practical example of how this theory can be use in class.

CONNECTIVISM
LEARNING
THEORY
ABOUT
~Recognises the importance of technology.
~Believes that people process information by forming connections.
~ Knowledge gain even after formal education from job skills, networking, experiencing and access to new tools in technology.
~ Learners learn how to think think critically by listening to other people's opinions.
APPLICATION
~ Planning learning that allowed for knowledge to be developed using technology
~ Acknowledging that learning can exist in non-human appliances.
~ Teaching students to find knowledge beyond the classroom.
Allow learners to learn using different technology gadgets, and give them the opportunity to use their own discretion.
In our class, learners make use of tablets, headphones to make their learning easier. This will also help them connect with the world outside the classroom while in the classroom.
This will bring about confidence and excitement among the learners.
Teachers who implement connectivism will have students learning in a way that will benefit them once they leave school
The video below gives more insight about the theory.

CONSTRUCTIVISM
LEARNING
THEORY
ABOUT
~ People are responsible for creating their own understanding of the world using what theY know based on their previous experiences.
~LEARNING from creating meaning through experience
~Used to teach high order thinking skills
APPLICATION
Teaching high order thinking skills by using problem based learning:
Role Playing
Debating on current affairs
Using groups to discuss and present topics
Real work activities. For example by work shadowing someone.
In our Classroom, the learners will get the opportunity to discuss the content in their respective groups which will give them a chance to hear other learner's opinions.
Below is a short video that explains this theory in simple terms

COGNITIVISM
LEARNING
THEORY
ABOUT
~The brain is like a computer. Prior knowledge is the key to learning and this is used to build an idea.
~Jean Piaget believed that thinking is a central aspect of development and that children are naturally inquisitive. He even went on to say that cognitive development takes place in different stages.
APPLICATION
~Asking students to reflect on their experiences
~Helping learners find new solutions to problems
~Encouraging discussions about what is being taught.
~Helping students explore and understand how ideas are connected.
~Asking students to justify and explain their thinking.
Cognitive Learning thRory is explained in simply in the video below.

BEHAVIORISM
LEARNING
THEORY
ABOUT
THE behaviorism learning THEORY believes that behavior can be controlled or modified based on consequences and punishment.
It helps shape class behavior and help students learn basic facts and skills.
Response is encouraged by a rewarding or punishment effect.
A response becomes stronger by exercise and practice also called " drilling and practice"
APPLICATION
To make use of this learning theory in the class, we will set rules in the class and hang up posters which will help with Rewarding and Punishing the learners of their actions.
Also when they learn new words and theories, these will be put up on the wall for them to see every time the work is discussed.
Attached is an example of how this learning theory can be used in the classroom.
