When he was teenager, in High School, he had some problems with his identity because his mum was white American and his dad was black African.
But living in Hawaii helped him because the poupolation of this county is made up of Asian, Hispanics, white American, African Americans and Hawaiians and this people of different cultures live together peacefully.
From this experience he undestood that respect for other people's cultures is essential to the succes of a multicultural society.
After High school, he studied Political Science and International Relations at the Columbia University in New York.
He worked for three years as a community organiser in a pool area of Chicago before he went to Harvad University ti study Law.

POLICY
During his time as a Law professor, he also worked as a civil rights lawyer and he begane his political career.
In 2005 he became Senator
He ran for elections against John McCain, he won the presidential election in 2008 and became President.
He won the presidental election for a second time in 2012 against Mitt Romney.

He was succeded by Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election.
CURIOSITY
His favourite sport is baskrtball and his school friends called him 'O'Bomber' because he was a good player.

he received the Nobel Peace Prize "for his extraordinary projects aimed at strengthening international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples".
When he became president, he wrote a letter in a magazine to his doughters and all children in the USA.
FAMILY
His wife's name is Michelle and they merried in 1992
they have got two doughters, Maila and Sasha .
