Tik Tok (formerly known as musical.ly) is a social media platform for creating, sharing and discovering short music videos, think Karaoke for the digital age. The app musical.ly was used by young people as an outlet to express themselves through singing, dancing, comedy, and lip-syncing.
Project Overview
The event will bring TikTok users together for a shared experience, utilizing various elements of the platform to construct an immersive presentation format, which can hopefully at least somewhat replicate the experience of a real-life event, which is obviously not an option at the moment.

SWOT Analysis
Weakness
- Not appropriate for children
Some content are not appropriate for children such as lyrics that contain swearing, sexual content or inappropriate dance moves. The app could enable strangers to send direct messages to children. (Kaur, 2018)
- Management
The app has some bugs that makes the users cannot access certain features. TikTok offers fewer monetization options compared to other platforms. (Stokel-Walker, 2020)
- The Security system
Tik Tok had serious vulnerabilities that would have allowed hackers to manipulate user data and reveal personal information

- A Huge Audience Base to Target
Tik tok has over 800 million users worldwide . Among the 500 million of these active users, there are more than 60 percent of the users are live in China. Which means that the platform has roughly 300 million monthly active users outside of China. (KEMP, 2020)

Tik Tok has their own invented Artificial Intelligence (AI) in their app. keeps its users addicted to the app.
- User friendly platform
It given access to non-urban gentry to share their content on a global platform, Anybody can upload content on it and share their voice, express their opinion.

The pandemic has benefit Tik Tok to gain a high amount of their app downloaded. The video app was downloaded 2 million times at the week of March 16th.The app also saw a 27% increase in the first 23 days of March compared to February with 6.2 million downloads. (STASSEN, 2020)
- Using as Own Branded Marketing Channel
Tik tok has a platform which is called “ Tik Tok For Business” that will serve as the home for all its current and future marketing solutions for brands. This platform allow entrepreneur or business owners to advertise their own brand or marketing while using using TikTok brand partnerships. (Perez, 2020)
- Celebrity & KOLs Strategy
To efficiently get higher user growth, Tik Tok started to raise internet celebrities or KOLs to reinforce the power in social network. It selected Weibo as the first marketing platform and let them share their videos with the Tik Tok logo.

Big names such as YouTube and snapchat might post a threat against Tik Tok as they started generating features which similar to Tik Tok. (Leskin, 2020)
- Government restrictions
Countries like India and United States are banning Tik Tok due to the application might post a threat against their national security. (Executive Order on Addressing the Threat Posed by TikTok, 2020)
- Virality of content
Tik Tok has difficulties to generate new ideas and contents. The concept of a short-video platform is not new and particularly hard to reproduce. It is difficult for Tik Tok always staying on top. (Littleton, 2020)

S1,O1- As Tik Tok has a lot of users that up to millions, the COVID 19 pandemic also bring a huge benefit which helping Tik Tok has a huge raise of their app downloaded. So they should emphasis on the user’s experience that deliver to their users. A good experience and impression to the users will make their users continue using their product instead of other platforms.
S2, T1- As Tik Tok has their own invented AI technology, they should emphasis on their technology and generate more unique features to overcome their competitors. A unique features will help users to tells the differences between Tik Tok and other similar platforms. People will be more invested in tiktoks if there’s something different and unique about them.
W3, O2- As Tik Tok has their own platform for any marketers or entrepreneurs to promote their brands by using this platform. Tik Tok should enhance their security system in order to protect all the data or information for their users. They shall aware of hackers which try to steal any important information of their users and take action against this issue. It will make users feel the app is safe to use.
W2, T3 – Tik Tok do have some bugs that need to be fixed, and they are hard to keeping their content on trend. In order to provide a good user’s experience, Tik Tok should improve their management team and creating engaging content to retain their users. Fixing bug issues and Content needs to be authentic, creative, and in keeping with the platform.
