- - - - There's really no good food here?
        
        I love poffertjes personally and fried food is common in street stands, but most of the things you wanna try are probably sweet. Like peppernoten, but you won’t find those until it’s time to celebrate Sinter Klaas.
        
        Any recommendations for savory foods?

        I think potatoes with mayo are common, but you'll find loempias here too which originate in Indonesia and the Philippines.
      - Does that mean I have to cook as well?
        
        Not necessarily, but it'd be great if you brought something with you. Maybe some freshly baked goods? I think Pedro can help you out in the town square. Let me know when you've decided.

        Hahahaha. With the virus? No, not at all. Before the virus it was a lot more common. Oh and the three kisses.

        Well, as a new student you might feel a little isolated some times. Some of us perceive didn't perceive the Dutch as very approachable when we arrived here.
        
        Why is that?
        
        I think it's mostly because people are quite direct here and won't necessarily lead conversations with someone they don't know.
        
        Everyone seems quite friendly to me.
        
        Then you're on your first step to getting comfortable with your new home. Dutch people like saying thank you to bus drivers and good day when you've paid at the supermarket. My best advice? Keep it polite.
