Zurich MailBox
Questions
Will K-Centre be any faster than Outlook, when accessed through outlook?
How slow is 'slow' (number of seconds?) ... and when is it slow? - or is it that the folders don't appear?
What's making it slow? ~ not the number of mails, but the number of folders? What is the folder heirarchy? Would changing it make a difference? How much data is attached vs in mails?
How much work is there really to do here? The users are all Kcentre users already, and the final pricing sheet gets filed for all clients already - so are there just some new subfolders for each client required?
-
Bermuda use outlook for workflow ... (flags and categories etc) - and for KPI reporting (time emails spend in 'inbox' measured closely - is Zurich similar?
Do the emails get re-titled to aid retrieval? - would they need to be in order to make them useful/findable within a DMS?
-
Would a slow migration be acceptable? - ie could we start using KCentre and in effect use two systems in parallel for a while?
Is there a cost saving in moving the data out of the mail box? will it improve performance elsewhere by taking a load off?
Alternatives to consider
-
Reduce the number of items within Outlook - powershell script to weed out old ones and file them away in K-Centre every night?
Stop using the folders completely - move over client by client by hand, into K-Centre
Could write a robot to file emails automagically if waiting for K-Centre (to navigate the tree, for example) was too slow?
looking at a minimum of 20 days of CTI time, based on a cursory glance from Marc last time round

changes over time - more folders. more data. more users. whilst it was working before, it would have stopped.
