Prehistoric societies.
Small groups conformed by hunters and collectors. They learned about their own environment and developed a reliable relationship in order to survive.
Agricultural societies.
They emerged when small groups of nomads learned how to cultivate, as well as domesticate animals. In order to get arable land, they usually destroyed vegetation trough several ways, either by burning it or through the “slash-and-burn” technique.
Industrial societies.
Started in the 18th century during the Industrial Revolution in England. The main source of energy was vapor, and coal was required to produce it as a way to replace wood, which was more expensive and limited.
Modern society.
It is also called “consumption society”, meaning that it brings several alterations to the environment because of overpopulation, fossil fuel dependency, the introduction of synthetic products and the over-consumption of products
Biodiversity loss
type of loss is caused mainly by humans, with practices such as deforestation, with practices such as deforestation
Desertification
as the degradation of arid lands, semi arid and dry, sub-humid areas that it is originated by climate changes and human activities
