(+) Can benefit from the wealth of information available for free online - learn new skills, etc.
(-) Also have to pay expensive internet bills - may not be able to afford, once again creating a digital divide
(+) Can also benefit from the wide variety of services available on the internet e.g. education, banking, news
(-) Need to be trained how to use devices and stay safe online. Although this is time-consuming, it is worth it and people can pick up things pretty quickly!

(+) Online advertising will attract new customers as well as tourists from on and off the island
(-) Need to invest in expensive network hardware and infrastructure to stay competitive
(+) Increased tourism as it provides a greater appeal and reach for tourists

(-) Mobile phone masts and infrastructure may ruin the island's appearance, which could detract from the island's appeal for tourists
(+) However, an internet connection is vital for many (if not most) tourists today, so it could make the island a more attractive tourist destination

(-) Have to introduce new laws in order to protect the island's inhabitants' privacy and ensure the security of their data

(-) As they are new to the internet, the inhabitants are vulnerable to cyber attacks such as phishing, scams and malware.
(-) Online services will begin collecting their data, which they may not be aware of or want.
