The casebook project definitely helped me to understand what each major role of production does to envision how they make scripts come to life.- Jacob Lewis
I learned about the different types of stages and how each play might utilize proper staging (i.e. Hamilton works well on a proscenium, but it may not be as good in a theatre in the round). - Jacob Lewis
This course has taught me about the psychology of theatre. The importance of lighting and props to set the mood of a particular scene/play. I did not know that role that audiences' emotions played in the presentation of a play.

I learned more about the origin of theater along with world theater traditions! I knew I already had a solid base of knowledge of theater components due to my IB theater course I took last year. However since I only took 1/2 of the course I didn't get to study world traditions. Though I assumed religion and community would be important. It was interesting to see just how deeply rooted these aspects were. Playing a part in movement, costumes, music, even the theater space.

I liked learning about all the elements of theatre and having to apply those and dissect a play. Breaking down all the elements and putting my self in a position where I needed to consider those elements and break down a scene based on my own interpretation of it. It was a lot of fun! Every job in the theatre requires you to work with everyone else. its always going to be a team efffort in theatre

I learned different theater traditions from different cultures such as the Kathakali and the Beijing Opera. It was interesting that although there were many different traditions they all played the same role entertainment to the people and a lot of these traditions used colorful mask and costumes to convey the same overall message- Rasheka Reynolds
