War and Conflict
Korean War
The Major Leaders during the Korean was mostly between South and North Korea. The United States joined South Korea and China joined North Korea.
The Korean War took place in Korea, particularly South Korea.
-
The Korean war ended in July 1953. So, it lasted about 3 years.
There was about 2.5 million dead, but in all there was about 4 million dead, injured, or missing.
Outcome - There wasn’t a clear winner; they just decided to stop since there were so many injured or dead. Kind of just stopped on its own.
Causes Of War
Egoism- The Soviet Union supported the spread og communism while most countrues were against it. The Soviet Union was forcing the spread of communism on the people. This made comunism spread.
Statism- Russia wanted their form of economy to rule. They were saying my way is the only and best way. They spread it by going to war instead of letting other economies stay how they were.
Rationality- The U.S thought the spread oof communism was a big problem when in reality it wasn't that big of a problem. So they basically jumped into the war without needing too.
Evasion- The U.S thought that Korea was an unstoppable force. They thought thay it was a much bigger problem than it really was. Korea wasn't an unstoppable force but the U.S refused to believe that. That is why one of the causes is evasion.
Comparing Wars
-
During the Vietnam war millions and millions of people died and during the Korean war only about 3 million did. Vietnam war had way more deaths than just 3 million.
Vietnam war people had to get drafted for example Altruism and during the Korean War people didn't get drafted.
Vietnam war was about religion and many other important topics. People in the Vietnam War wanted people to eliminate Buddhism but the Korean War was kind of just feud.
Definition of War
My definition of war is a spontaneous event resulting from some form of social conflict that created organized duties, strategies, etc. for the people in it.
I think my definition of war fits because it doesn't just say that war has to be mass deaths and such, it simply says that war is SOME form of a conflict. This is implying that it could be a disagreement or even a feud.
The Korean war goes well with my definition of war because it says that there is a conflict which is South and North Korea. Then they get organized and have certain people do certain stuff during the war.
Impacts of War
Social
Korea
The Korean War had a big toll on people's families. The war-separated families because if you lived in North Korea and had family in South Korea you wouldn't be able to see or commmunicate with them.
There are also lots of different people that were affected during the war with mental health illnesses like PTSD, depression and anxiety.
Economical
