Dilated Cardiomyopathy - Coggle Diagram

- - - - HCTZ in mild heart failure with normal renal function
      - Furosemide
      - Treat volume overload.
    - - Enalapril 10mg PO daily.
      - Reduce preload, afterload and improve CO.
      - Causes dry cough angiooedema. Replace with AT1 receptor blocker.
    - - Spironolactone 25 mg PO
      - Monitor potassium
    - - Once out of acute heart failure.
      - Resting HR>70& and EF<35%
      - Carvidelol titrate up to max of 25mg BD.
      - If still symptomatic on max doses of first line drugs for 3 months then add second-line agents.
  - - - African patients with EF<40%
      - Replace ACEI. Monitor for volume status and hypotension.
    - - If symptoms persist on first line agents.
      - Contra-indicated in heart block.
    - - Vasodilator-> decreases pulmonary artery pressures.
