        Those who have heard the name of Jesus and chose to follow him. Jesus is a mediator who gets one into heaven.

        What about those who never hear the name of Jesus because of geographic constraints?
        
        They are treated the same as babies, since they never heard the name of Jesus they dont have a chance to accept him so it wouldnt be just for someone to be punished just because they are ignorant to the law.
        
        Isnt belief in Jesus something that one has to do as in a work-based thing to get into heaven, how is this different from other work-based religions?
        
        Believing in Jesus is a choice and gets the focus off of us and on to someone else whereas work-based religions has the focus solely on us and what we can do to get into heaven. Think about hiring a lawyer as opposed to being your own lawyer, the latter requires a person to lean on someone else to do the work for them whereas the former requires a person to lean on themselves to do all the work.
        
        What about babies who cant choose Jesus?
        
        Babies are automatically sent into heaven because they cant choose to not follow Jesus so by default they are not guilty because they dont know the law.
        
        What if you were a dictator or someone who has killed massive amounts of people but then later ask for forgiveness and decide to follow Jesus, will that person now get to go to heaven without doing any further works? Dosent seem fair.
        
        The christian faith basically says we are all sinners and all sin is equal. So a murderer is equal to a liar in the eyes of God. Also most of us are on this earth for decades and it is through those decades we have chosen to be disobedient to God and sin against him and our fellow human's simply because we are not perfect. That being said even though it might seem like a liar is "better" than a "dictator" they are both sinners and deserve eternal death. The fact that this person on their death bed chooses to follow Jesus is not a simple "I will follow Jesus" so that they can get their get out of Hell free card but it is simply a heart change that occurs that God can see.
        
        What about the death bed confessions with those who have done evil things all their lives and now they accept the name of Jesus to get into heaven?
        
        Same explanation as above. Everyone is a sinner in the Christian faith no matter what work you do. All eyes are on the savior, Jesus Christ.

        Basically no one is better than the other we are all in the same boat when it comes to sin which makes sense since we are all capable of doing heinous things and there is no one that does the righteous thing all of the time. We see evidence every day that human condition is indeed flawed.

        We can only believe this by faith and can easily be led astray by a lot of hearsay in the church and outside of the church. We choose Jesus by reading the words that he says in the bible but we were not there to witness his miracles and his ministry first hand. This takes and requires a tremendous amount of faith to believe that Jesus will save us.
- - - - If there is no after life then there is no judgement for those who have sinned in this life. Which means those who have sinned and got away with said sin in this life will not be punished. Sounds awful. Also this means that we will not see our loved ones again. This also means that life is meaningless since it has no purpose if there is no after life explaining why we are here. Human beings always wonder why, which is an interesting desire to have for a species that has come here by accident. Also if there is darkness after one dies how can one "experience" nothingness or even "darkness".

        If there is no after life then there is no judgement for previous bad behavior. As mentioned before Hitler who was never really judged for his crimes against humanity gets off scott free.
        
        If there is no after life there is no meaning to life, we are just here and then we die. Why even live?

        There is no clear cut evidence of an after life except for the near death experience reports but even they are debatable.

        How can one experience nothingness after they die? The whole statement self-refuting. Also what is the point of consciousness if when we die there is nothing when all through life there is something.

        Yes and no, basically your soul goes somewhere else but in the same life stream. However whatever they are thinking about before they die is where they will go. If they are thinking about God before they die they will go to the highest world. If they are thinking of evil and negative thoughts he will go to the lower worlds and suffer in the hands of evil. Also we dont remember our past lives.

        A person who has committed many bad deeds in their life.

        How can one tell when they have done enough good deeds to be considered a good person as opposed to a bad person?
        
        Sounds like an infinite loop, when does it all end if one keeps getting reincarnated into another life.
        
        If one is bad in this life and is reincarnated as what is considered bad in another life is this a constant loop of badness for this particular soul since if they are reincarnated as something that cant help but be bad then the soul has no choice but to be reincarnated into another life that is considered bad. Also this means that if I am living a good life now, this means the person whom my soul was in before did what is considered "good" things. But represents a "good" life? Material blessings? Immaterial blessing?

        What if the world blows up and there is nothing for the soul to return to? Does the soul become a star?

        The claims that people have witnessed their previous lives in dreams and were close to accurate in describing these previous lives. However this still begs the question why do some people remember their previous lives whereas the majority of us don't?

        Yes and no, very similar to Hinduism a person is reincarnated.

        Those who are good in this life will have more peace in the next life. -- good karma

        Those who are not good in this life will have struggles in the next life -- bad karma.

        Your salvation so to speak is up to you and your works, how does one know how many good works will lead them to a peaceful next life?
        
        Buddism claims that one is not always reincarnated as a human being but they can also be reincarnated as an animal or even a god. This sounds like an infinite loop and what happens if all material things are destroyed, what does one reincarnate as? According to Buddism, more than likely you will come back as a god but what if one is bad in this life and all material things are destroyed? WIll you come back as someone who struggles in the next life in a parallel universe.
        
        Very similar to the amount of good works one does, how does one know whether or not how many bad works they did?
        
        What if one comes back as an animal. How can an animal be good or bad in this life? Animals are basically bounded by their nature they have no concept of free will as far as we know. For example, if I die in this life and come back as a Cow, I will only be able to give milk and graze the land. Once that life is over, what will come back as if I lived such a neutral life?

        Yes, but before they go to their version of heaven or hell they go to an intermediary place called Barzakh where they wait before the Day of Judgement.

        People who have lived a good life, which is living religiously, asking Allah for forgiveness, and showing good actions in their life. Obeying the rules set by Allah is of importance. There are seven levels of heaven.
        
        Who is punished?
        
        People who have lived a bad life or have committed shirk. Basically people who reject the teachings of the Quran. However there is still hope for those who enter hell.

        Regarding anything as an equal or partner of Allah, basically committing idolatry.

        This goes back to the old testament rules of works and obedience getting one into heaven and this type of worldview would work without a savior.

        Seven levels of heaven seems quite redundant. Is the seventh level of heaven better or more comfortable than the first level? What about the second through sixth levels?
        
        How does one know how many good actions will get them into heaven? What kind of peace does that give a person who is on their death bed.
        
        What if a muslim obeys Allah 90% of the time whereas another muslim only obeys Allah 89% of the time? Will the one muslim who obeyed Allah 90% of the time go to the higher heaven then the one who obeyed 89% of the time. How does one know where they are going ahead of time. One is always kept in the dark on whether they did enough work to get into heaven or God's good graces.
        
        If there is still hope for those entering hell then why do I need to obey Allah or even believe in the Quran in this life when I can just redeem myself in hell?

        Who is punished?
        
        we are told that all but the most wicked are sent to Gehenom (a fiery place, according to Berakhot 57b), but their stay in the flames is temporary. After being purged of their sins, they are ushered to Heaven by Abraham.
        
        Elsewhere (Rosh Hashanah 17a), the torments of Hell are said to be temporary for most sinners - but instead of ending in Heaven, they end in nonexistence.
        
        The closest we get is the fate of apostate (a person who renounces God, faith and morality in this world), who is said to be “cut off from his kin.”
        
        Who is rewarded?
        
        In the future, the Messiah will come and God will sit in judgment of the souls. The virtuous will be reunited with their bodies and live eternal lives in the World to Come, which Gaon conceives of as a world much like this one, only better. The wicked will be sent to She’ol.
        
        The righteous go to Garden of Eden, which he claims is a real place in this world where souls are trained for the World to Come.
        
        The righteous of any people and any faith have a place in it.

        How does one know when they have done enough good to get into heaven?
        
        What if you have done a million good things and 999,999 bad things? Would you still make it into heaven?
        
        Is there a scale where your good out weighs your bad?
        
        What if you were a serial killer who killed multiple people in the past and then you did good things afterwards before you died?
        
        According to this worldview you would go to heaven because your good outweighs your bad or if you want to get deep your spirit and heart was good before you died.
        
        Strong argument for this worldview
        
        In the old testament there was no messiah and people were forgiven for their sins but only after they performed sacrifices or works. In this day in age instead of sacrifices it is just good works. David, for example was considered a man after God's own heart however he was one of the worse sinners in the bible with his lust, adultery, pridefulness and also the murder of the husband of the woman he was having an affair with. David wasnt a perfect man but he was a "humble" man. All throughout the old testament God praises a humble spirit even over man's sacrifices since at one point man's sacrifices are nothing without a man's humble desire to obey God, is this what righteousness ultimately is? If so then a person has a clear idea on whether or not they will be going to heaven or not.

        If those who go to hell are only there temporarily, then who goes there permanently? This makes the assumption that one sin is worse than another sin however we learn in the Old Testament that sin is basically disobedience of God's laws. That is like one prisoner in prison saying that yes I have broke the law by stealing that stereo system but at least I am better than the other prisoner who broke the law by murdering someone. Yes one crime seems worse than the other and one gets and deserves a longer prison sentence than the other but that is not the argument. The argument is the thief thinks that he is not that bad of a criminal compared to the murder when in the eyes of the justice system they are both criminals who have decided to break the law and deserve to be punished. Sin on the other hand we have chosen to do for our entire lives and our rap sheet grows continually each and every day. At the end of our lives we all have to answer for that long rap sheet which we all will have. By allowing some people get temporary punishment after they die and other permanent punishment you are basically ranking sinners which leads to boasting and creates a form of pride as described in the example of the two prisoners.

        Yes, there are two judgements.
        
        Who is punished?
        
        First judgement will occur after death and if your actions through your life have not been in accordance to his teachings then you will be punished. A final judgement will be given to those who are in purgatory
        
        Who is rewarded?
        
        Those who are deemed to have lived a "righteous" life throughout their life according to God's teachings via the first and final judgements.

        How we know how much good will get one into heaven and how much bad will get one into purgatory compared to hell?
        
        If we cant go to God directly but only the priests can go to God then what was the point of Jesus's death on the cross? Wasnt it to allow us to go to God directly?

        Just like the Jews, we are going back to the old testament days in which your righteous works get you into good favor with God which is possible according to various stories in the Old Testament, think about David, Abraham, Job, Noah, etc... They were not perfect but their humble faithfulness which was a work got them into good favor with God but this was before Jesus.
        
        Strongest Argument against this worldview.
        
        You cant believe in Jesus dying on the cross and believe that solely your works will get you into heaven, it seems contradictory to what the bible actually teaches. Also if Jesus DIDNT die on the cross for our sins what did he die on the cross for if solely our works will get us into heaven. If one is catholic we really dont need an ultimate sacrifice.
