How to create a sense of belonging
According to research, a sense of belonging can be created by making people feel appreciated for what they do and making them comfortable. In some cases, even valuable feedback can be given to make them aware that their work is being noticed.
A potential solution can be to alert the teacher/boss that work from an employee or student has been submitted. This way, boss/teacher can notice the work submitted and give credit to those who submit. This makes them feel appreciated and accepted.
Psychologists suggest sometimes just taking to people or just having a chat with them can make them feel belonged
Potential solution: A virtual platform for co-workers to be able to communicate or talk with each other for emotional support

Research suggests that it may be a primordial instinct from when humans were still hunters and gatherers because humans found strength in numbers

According to google, it is the human emotional need to feel socially accepted as a part or a member of a group
How to identify if a person feels belonged or not
If a person in cutting himself/herself off of any relationship for a long period of time, that can be a sign of inability to feel belonged
Sometimes, the person may not want to talk to anyone for weeks or months. However, if this only happens once in a while, that might not necessarily be the case everytime
How important is it to feel belonged?
The sense of belonging is fundamental to the way humankind organizes itself. We cannot separate the importance of a sense of belonging from our physical and mental health. The social ties that accompany a sense of belonging are a protective factor helping manage stress.
