Kylie Bickel’s Entreneurship Traits
Strongest Traits (Most Confident)
Desire & Passion
The only way that I can describe this is just feeling so deeply and strongly about something that you
crave
achieving it.
Example: When I think about any aspect of our future business, I get so excited that one idea just leads to another and they all keep flowing. By the end, I am beyond ready to just open up our business.
Accountablity
I was raised to own up to mistakes. If I did something and I shouldn’t have, I’ll be the first one to admit it.
Example: I am the trainer at work and the new girl that I recently trained is truly something. We got into a disagreement and I actually got so angry that I raised my voice. (This is extremely out of character for me). I was the first one to tell my boss and admit that I shouldn’t have spoken when angry.
Market Awareness
One of the main reasons I want to open my own business is because the marketing side of things just comes naturally to me.
Example: Slogans are easy for me to create. I am also very creative in thinking of new products that company logos can be placed on to do the marketing for us.
Determination
I am extremely goal-oriented. When I reach a goal, I set another to achieve.
Example: Reaching a certain amount in my savings account by a certain date and hitting the goal before expected just to set another.
Value the Bottom Line
One of my strong suits is that I am just naturally good at budgeting and understanding costs.
Example: I am able to reach savings account goals ahead of my scheduled time because I round everything up and estimate expenses to be higher and put a certain dollar amount into savings every month. Often times, I am able to put extra into savings since I have extra money left over from rounding up.
Moderately Confident Traits
Business Knowledge/Management
I am strengthening my business management knowledge to prepare for the success of my future business.
Example: Working towards obtaining my Associate’s Degree in Business through Ivy Tech.
Net Working
Networking is not my strongest point, but I do have resources to access the knowledge I may need as new issues arise.
Example: My husband/future business partner knows LOTS of people and is not shy about contacting anyone and everyone until he gets the answers he is after. (I consider this a trait of mine as well because we are a team).
Reciliency/ Problem Solving
I am a pretty high-stress person, so I am not great at bouncing back and creating the solution right away.
Example: If it is a completely unforeseen problem, I tend to panic for a quick few minutes. Once I calm down and re-evaluate the situation, I have a solution and move forward.
Weakest Traits (Least Confident)
Ability to Thrive on Uncercainty
I am really good at working in chaotic envrionments, but I doubt myself frequently. I feel that part of being an Entrepreneur is not losing hope.
Example: I need frequent reassurance that I am capable of achieving my dreams. To me, my dreams seem so large sometimes and I think they are out of reach. I just need reminders that setting my small goals will get me to where I want to be big-picture wise. I tend to think of all the “what-if scenarios” which is why I feel that I will struggle when things become uncertain.
Self Confidence
The textbook deifines self confidence as solving any problem that comes one’s way. THIS is something that I
can
do. Now, actual self confidence in myself is something I am working on.
Example: Just the other day, I was operaiting one of our lift machines at work and a coworker jokingly said “Everyone’s watching- don’t mess up.” I replied that it was okay and I didn’t care. He responded along the lines of: “Good for you! Normal Kylie would’ve gotten nervous, but yeah- you know! You’ve got this!”
