        In her society, the existing power structures undoubtedly favor men. Said men have, perhaps unknowingly, used their existing power to manipulate the power structure even more in their favor. By creating societal pressure on women to become housewives and not to pursue academic careers, it makes it increasingly difficult for women to protest against their society.
        
        As shown in Millie, she is uneducated, and thus is unable to properly protest against her lack of power, because she doesn't understand it.
    - - By lashing out at all men, she is able to crudely convey the emotions which she feels, as a result of being denied power and control over her life.
