Stochkendahl, M. J., Rezai, M., Torres, P., Sutton, D., Tuchin, P., Brown, R., & Côté, P. (2019). The chiropractic workforce: A global review. Chiropractic and Manual Therapies, 27(1) doi:10.1186/s12998-019-0255-x
"This review is specifically looking at the distribution of the chiropractic workforce. There is no examination about perceptions or beliefs about chiropractic. There is also no examination about acceptance of chiropractic into the healthcare system. This review aims to understand the utilization of the profession. This review also points to the disparity of distribution and under utilization in lower income countries." (Stochkendahl et al., 2019; Gosse, 2020)
"This review starts with pointing out the storage of healthcare workers worldwide and many people suffering from chronic pain and musculoskeletal conditions. They suggest that chiropractors may be helpful to aid with patients. This review examines the global population of chiropractors practice, education, and governing legislation. They examined 90 countries with at least 1 practicing chiropractor. Chiropractic is legally recognized in 68 of those 90 countries. It is expressly illegal in 12 of those 90 countries. There are 48 chiropractic educational institutions in 19 countries. The findings of the review were that many practicing chiropractors, educational institutions, governing legislation, and regulation favoured high income countries" (Stochkendahl et al., 2019; Gosse, 2020).
