Draw on key child development and learning theorists such as Piaget, Vygotsky, Bruner, Skinner as a minimum to demonstrate a clear understanding of influential theories of the nature of learning and how it takes place To demonstrate higher grades you will need to explore further personal reading and make links between the ideas discussed.
Piaget- 36-38 his theories: Stages of development: Sensory motor stage, Preoperational stage, Concrete operational stage, and Formal operations stage. Equilibrium, accommodation and assimilation, Object permanence, Egocentrism and Conservation.
Vygotsky-39-41 his theories: Language and thinking, The zone of proximal development (ZPD) and The social context for learning.
Bruner- 47-49 his theories: Three modes of representation: Inactive, Iconic and Symbolic, The spiral curriculum and He was the first to coin the term "scaffolding"
Skinner-42-43 his theories: He conducted experiments on rodents and pigeons, operational conditioning.
