Hong Kong - Quality Migrant Admission Scheme (QMAS) Visa
The Scheme is a quota-based entrant scheme. All applicants are required to fulfill a set of prerequisites before they can be awarded points under one of the two points-based tests. Maximum 225 Points
The prevailing minimum passing mark is 80.*
The annual quota stands at 1000 entrants.
General Points Test
(2). Age (Maximum 30 points)
18 - 39 : 30 Points
40 - 44 : 20 Points
45 - 50 : 15 Points
51 or above : 0 Points
(3). Qualifications (Maximum 70 points)
Doctoral Degree / Two or more master’s degrees : 40 Points
Master’s Degree / Two or more bachelor’s degrees : 20 Points
Bachelor’s Degree / Professional Qualification awarded by a nationally or internationally recognized institution/university : 10 Points
Additional points if a degree at bachelor level or higher is awarded by a renowned institution recognized internationally : 30 Points
(1). Work Experience (Maximum 55 points)
Not less than 10 years' specialist level work experience, including at least 5 years in a senior role : 40 Points
Not less than 5 years' specialist level work experience, including at least 2 years in a senior role : 30 Points
Not less than 5 years' specialist level work experience : 15 Points
Not less than 2 years' specialist level work experience : 5 Points
Additional points for not less than 2 years’ specialist level work experience with international exposure : 15 Points
(4). Talent List (Maximum 30 points)
Additional points if meeting the specifications of the respective profession under the Talent List : 30 Points
(5). Language Proficiency (Maximum 20 points)
Being proficient both in written and spoken Chinese and English : 20 Points
Being proficient in at least one foreign language (written and spoken) in addition to written and spoken Chinese or English : 15 Points
Being proficient in written and spoken Chinese or English : 10 Points
(6). Family Background (Maximum 20 points)
At least one immediate family member (married spouse, parents, siblings, children) is a Hong Kong permanent resident residing in Hong Kong : 5 Points
Accompanying married spouse is educated to the equivalent level of a degree or above : 5 Points
5 points for each accompanying unmarried dependent child under the age of 18, maximum 10 points : 5/10 points
Achievement-based Points Test
is meant for individuals with exceptional talent or skill who have outstanding achievements. There is only a one point-scoring factor of 165 points under this test, which will be awarded if
You have received an award of exceptional achievement (e.g. Olympic medals, Nobel prize, national/international awards); or
You can show that your work has been acknowledged by your peers or has contributed significantly to the development of your field (e.g. lifetime achievement award from the industry).

Approx. 9-10 Lakhs / Main Applicant
Approx. 3 Lakhs for each additional applicant
Good character - Police Clearance Certificate from all the countries wherever he/she lived for 6 months or above

A completed Dependants visa application form ID 997 along with supporting documents
A copy of proof of personal net worth like bank statements, bank certificates, statement
A copy of proof of language proficiency (IELTS or TOEFL for English, PSC or HSK for Chinese)
A copy of proof of academic qualifications like graduation certificates, transcripts of academic records etc.
A copy of professional qualifications, training, membership certificates
A copy of proof of relevant work experience like employment reference letter, employment contract etc.
A copy of evidence of key career accomplishments and future plan in Hong Kong
All documents submitted must be in English or Chinese or translated into English or Chinese by a certified translation body
Application Procedure and Timeline
Once the application forms and supporting documents are ready, you can post the documents to :

Immigration Department,
6/F, Immigration Tower,
7, Gloucester Road,
Wan Chai, Hong Kong
Usually an Exercise of Draw happens once in every 3 months. Within 15 days after the result of the exercise will be published
Approval-in-principle
allows you to enter Hong Kong on a visitor visa so that you can personally attend an interview and present originals of all documents submitted during the application to the Immigration Department for verification. Dependants are not required to attend the interview.
Formal Approval
Once the Immigration authorities are satisfied that all statements made or information provided during the application are true and complete, you will be granted formal approval.
Entry Visa/Entry Permit
Within one week of granting formal approval, you and your dependants will be issued with an entry visa/entry permit for stay in Hong Kong under the Scheme. Most visas issued under this scheme are valid for a one-year period can be extended upto maximum 7 years step by step
If you are allotted a quota in the selection exercise, an Approval-in-principle letter will be issued to you.
