Study:
To investigate minority influence
Participants were told it was an experiment on colour perception
Procedures:
172 participants
All participants were screened prior to the experiment for colour blindness
6 participants per group
x2 confederate and x4 participants
x2 conditions
1: confederates answer green on all slides
2: confederates answered green x24 and blue x12
36 slides total
Told to estimate the colour (all different shades of blue)
Findings:
% of the trails were participants called the colour green
Consistent group; 8.4%
Inconsistent: 1.3%
Conclusions:
Supports the idea that consistent minority can convince a a majority (partly effective)

Methodological criticisms
:
Artificial task: lack ecological validity and no explanation for real life settings
Real life applications:
Not that simple: minorities are not just few in numbers but often majorities also have higher status
Minority and majority relationships are more complex
Variation:

Minority influence is persuasive but people may not want to admit to being influenced
