this is a flood that happened a few weeks ago in west Sussex and the damage that was caused was over about 14 million pounds
Floods can begin by there being a heavy over dose of rain. But it only starts to really flood when its not possible to drain into the soil.
Usally it drains into grass. so its alright for a healthy amount of raining, because that helps to feed plants.
Once when i was camping with my cousin. We both woke up to being drifted around the field since it had rained so much. Bare in mind we were only 5 years old and with my dad who weren't waking up
A flood is an overflow of water onto land that is normally dry. Floods can happen almost anywhere. They can cover an area with just a few inches of water or they can bring enough water to cover the roof of a house.

When it floods it is highly likely that you will have a power cut and none of your electricity will work through out the house
This causes problem with your fridges and freezers because if they are off for a long time, all of you food will go bad.
When its really sunny for awhile the sea somehow gets disturbed causing really big waves and then evaporation. So then it will rain really hard
