Mostly concerned with :-

:fire: Complementary development of major attraction features & facilities in nearby countries
:fire: Multi-country marketing strategies & promotion program
:fire: Weak because it depends on cooperation of individual countries
:fire: Important for special function activities and receive encouragement from international agencies through their sponsorship
:smiley: NATIONAL LEVEL
Development plans for a country as a whole but includes specific objectives for particular types of area within the national boundary
National level of tourism planning focused on :-
Tourism policy
The major tour routes in the country and their regional connections
Tourism organizational structures, legislation and investment policies
Physical structure plan ( attraction, designation of tourism development region, international access point and internal transportation network facilities)
REGIONAL/LOCAL LEVEL :smiley:
Region of a country, often a state or province and perhaps a group of island
More specific than national level although the degree of specificity at both levels depends on the region size
Regional planning focus on the element of :-
Regional policy
Regional access and the internal transportation network of facilities & services
Type & location of tourist attraction
Location of tourism development areas including resorts areas
SUBREGIONAL PLANNING :smiley:
There is need for subregional planning, which is more specific than the regional level
The components of the subregional plan will depend on the situation of the subregion but typically would include tourist attraction features
