Was it because of her trust fund? But not if that was so long in the future?

Not exactly true - they distract his followers. May not be true of him.
Selling up
Does this still work? Has he given up on India?
Original thought that he has decided to move on and take Nicola with him - at least, that's what she thinks. Was he ever going to do that?
WHAT HAPPENS?
He tells India she has to come with him, or he will expose her as a killer
This only works if the trust hasn't already paid out.
Or he really DOES want to be with her, but ALSO wants her money
He would ONLY try to kill her if the trust had already paid out and Alfie would get her money.
We definitely need some solid reason for why everyone has left.
She tells him the clothes aren't hers. He has no hold over her.and when she knows they won't implicate her mother she threatens to call the police.
Motivations
What is Martha scared of?
Aram has evidence she killed Leah
If she goes to prison, he gets control of Alfie.
But Aram doesn't like children - so why does she think he'll take him?
If Aram knows about Alfie, he will try to twist his mind, the way he twisted hers.
But why? If he doesn't want children?
UNLESS SHE BELIEVES HE WANTS THIS CHILD AND WON'T HAND HIM OVER FOR ADOPTION, THERE IS NO BASIS FOR HER FEAR.
What does Aram want?
Currently, he wants India. He wants to be with her.
If he just wants her money, why was he prepared to leave (sell up)
Why has Martha come back to Lakeside?
To destroy the evidence that binds her to Aram.
Was his threat of exposing her to keep her at Lakeside ALWAYS about the money - forward planning?
The money
Does she know about it? Did Dad tell her, and if not, why not?
Has she already got it? In a bank somewhere?
Will Alfie get it if she dies?
Does Aram already know about Alfie? If so, how?
She always seemed very special to him, and I don't really want to lose that, even if it does end up being about the money.
The Trust
Aram has always known about the trust
It pays out to India when she is 27 - a half way house between 25 and 30.
She knows about the trust, but also she'll have to get the bank details from her mum or dad or provide the trustees with an account in the name of India Kalu.
It's money he can't get his hands on.
It's the reason he wanted to keep India close
If India dies, the money remains in the trust for Alfie.
If India dies AFTER the trust has paid out, it all goes to Alfie, assuming she hasn't written a will (which she hasn't).
Aram has sold Lakeside and taken the money
India finds the sale documents and also, stuck in the shredder, a solicitor's letter - someone is taking legal action against Aram - that's why he's leaving.
Aram says India is going with him, or he will expose her to the police. But they're not her clothes.
OPTIONAL SCENARIOS
She has the money now, in an account. No will. She is expendable.
He has to keep her with him until she's 27 - (actually that's the next week, as it turns out!)
So Aram has to prevent Nicola from killing her.
Nicola tells Aram that India is pregnant, and asks if she should be given a pill. He says no - and Joel hears.
