Lesson 7/8/9 - Microscopy and Magnification
Microscope
Set the objective lens to the smallest magnification
Place the slide on the stage and secure with the stage clips
Turn on light source
Look into the eyepiece
Turn the course focussing wheel to move the stage away from the objective lens until you see an image
Use course focussing wheel to move stage as close to the objective lens.

Stain allow us to see different parts of the cell under a microscope
can be used to work out if a cell is alive or dead
Magnification
Magnification is how many larger is the image size compared to the actual size of the object being viewed
Image size = actual size x magnification
I AM triangle
Units
1cm = 10 millimetres
1 millimetre = 1000 micrometres
1 micrometre = 1000 nanometres
