  1. What can happen in a society where there is a lack of justice?
  1. To what extent is it fair for all Canadians?
  1. To what extent is this true for youth?
  1. What role do Canadians have to play to ensure that this is the case?
  1. What are things that make this difficult to maintain?

Make sure that the people that have done wrong things are punished, and people that are wrongfully convicted to not be so

Make sure that everybody gets what they should get. This changes depending on each person, which makes this more difficult to decide

There can be many false negatives, or false positives

People can be convicted for no reason, or just to get rid of the person

Pretty fair for Canadians

Uses a jury system, randomly selected

They have to keep the government accountable, and make sure they're doing their job correctly

Be active in justice, by protesting changes that they think is bad for them

People will have different opinions on what justice is

There will be people trying to get around the justice system, constantly looking for loopholes and ways to avoid justice being done to them

When youth are being convicted, the things done against youth are relatively fair

Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA) helps convict youth in a reasonable manner

Pretty fair for youth, as youth are correctly treated differently from adults

Other times, youths' opinions will be ignored and not listened to

People might think that youth haven't matured yet, are not intelligent enough, or more and not take opinions seriously

There have been some times where youth have been listened to. An example is Greta Thunberg, where she has been acknowledged by world leaders and many people worldwide

If the government doesn't have justice, people will not trust the government very highly, and will ignore what the government says

If specific people don't have justice, then they will get away with many illegal things

Make checks and balances, and keep up with events in the world
