PATHOPHYSIOLOGY
During radial phase malignant cells develop and grow in a radial way in the epidermis
They than progress to vertical growth phase
Melanoma has two growth phases which are radial and vertical
This is when malignant cells develop on the dermis they than metastasis
Melanoma develop when there is solar radiation
DEFINITION
It is the most serious type of skin cancer which occurs when cells that give skin color become cancerous
NURSING CARE PLAN
INTERVENTION
Monitor signs of infection
Monitor vital signs
Assist with biopsies of skin lesion
Provide medication as prescribed by doctor
Asses patient skin from head to toe
Education patient
EVALUATION
Patient is free from skin cancer
Patient shows knowledge on prevention of skin cancer
Patient is free from metastasis
DIAGNOSIS
