hypothermia (extremely low body temperature) can lead to cardiac arrest

coronary artery disease
endocarditis
in this infection of the heart lining and valves, high body temperature (38C/100.4F and above) is a symptom
another symptom is fast heart rate (more than 100 beats per minute)
I could design a device that monitors both heart rate and temperature and lights up/sound signals when one or both of these vital signs hit the maximum range. This would alert the patient to receive immediate medical help.

Environmental Health
Pollution
water pollution
lead contamination
organic waste contamination
air pollution
A wearable device could include a gas sensor to determine the air quality of the environment around the wearer. This could be helpful to people that have weaker lungs and are more susceptible to damage by pollutants. The device could light up or give a sound signal to alert the wearer that they should leave or wear a mask if the composition of pollutants in the air is beyond the tolerance level.
