You can find sources for a research essays in many places. For example, now of days many people use the internet but when doing so you must find creditable websites. People still use books and articles as sources and if you are in school many schools have a digital library where you find different sources

begin your research They provide:
a starting point to gather information
on your topic.
a way to identify potential research
topics.
an introduction to major works and key
issues related to your topic
key authors in your area of research.
Who is my audience and why is that important?
Your audience is whoever you are trying to speak through the essay. Knowing your audience can help with the context you put in the essay. Deepening on who you are righting to you will use different words or examples
"Consider your audience. Who would be interested in the issue?"
How do I get started with a research paper?
The bets place to start with a research paper is to brainstorm. Start off with a board topic and from there u can narrow down what it is exactly it is you will discuss. From there you can began researching said topic.
