India is not safe for women as rape takes place every 20 minutes and India is also ranked amongst the most dangerous country for women.
Usually the victims are blamed. They are told that their clothes were too short or they were asking for it. Victim blaming is also caused by the broken principles of male dominance.
The Indian laws state that any kind of sexual activity conducted by a man with women under the age of 18 would be considered as rape, regardless of consent. This means that rape with a woman over 18, would not be entertained in court.
Females from a young age have been taught to wear ‘proper’ clothes cause ‘boys will be boys’. Boys are never taught to respect or to ask for consent which is extremely unfair.
