The myelin sheath is an electrical insulator, actions potentiols can't happen where the myelin sheath is, but they can happen at the nodes of randvier. The Cytoplasm conducts enough electrical charge to depolarise the next node. Na+ can travel to the node, which triggers depolarisation. In other words, depolarisation ocuurs from node to node. It's like it's jumping from one node to the next. This is called Saltatory Conduction
