Death
Elizabeth was queen for 45 years, a golden age for England.
She died in 1603, at age 70, and Jaime I, son of Mary, became king.
Childhood
She was very smart, but had
a difficult childhood, had a
grumpy father and so many stepmothers.

Due to the death of her sister, Elizabeth
became queen in 1558.

Elizabeth sent explorers to sail around the world. In 1577, Sir Francis Drake set sail on his ship, the
Pelican, the queen sent him tobring her a Spanish treasure.
Victories
In 1588, the Spanish king sent ships to attack England.
