Oesophagus

squeezing motion of muscles = peristalsis
Small intestine
6 metres long tube shaped organ
majority of nutrients are absorbed
Large intestine ( colon )
1.5 metres long and 2 times the width
soaks up water, salt and minerals from the left overs
Pancreas
its job is to make chemicals called enzymes
releases a hormone that helps control your blood sugar levels
Gallbladder
its job is to store bile

24 hours for food to move through 9 metres
food mixed with acids + digestive juices then squeezed for all nutrients needed in the body
