Definition
Ethics are the ‘beliefs, values, and moral principles by which we determine what is right or wrong’.

Commitment to fair play
‘fair play’ is used to express a form of human behavior that is characterized by fairness towards one’s self, others and society, and the wider environment.
Commitment to good listening
Refers to paying attention to another member when she/he is talking and giving opportunity to members to talk.
Commitment to rationality
Refers to using rationality and logic for the benefit of the group.
Commitment to preparation
Refers to being prepared for a meeting by studying the issue to be discussed in the meeting prior to the meeting.
Commitment to the group good
Refers to being committed for the sake of the group’s beneficial gains
Commitment to ideational conflict
Ideational conflict means a form of constructive conflict that deals exclusively with ideas.
Commitment to doing your best
Refers to doing a task given as best as we can by being contributive etc to the group.
Commitment to objectivity
Objectivity refers to a way of thinking that is based on real fact and not influenced by personal beliefs or feelings
Commitment to tolerance
Members should be tolerant with different communication style that other member have.
Commitment to social maturity
Each member should be matured not to be childis
Confront ethical dilemmas with a sense of moral courage
Sometimes when faced with a dilemma, one chooses to ignore doing the right thing because of personal gains.
It is important that when this happens, you are willing to speak with moral courage.
Developing topics for problem-solving
If you are given autonomy to choose your topic, the following criteria should be taken into account : interest
Self and audience assessment
When preparing a group discussion or public presentation, knowing the topic in-depth is important.
There is a strong relationship between a member’s interest level, motivation and productivity and quality and member satisfaction.
For increased motivation, choose a topic that most members of the group are interested in.
Avoid being egocentric
efficiency
Efficiency: producing the best possible result with the least amount of resources
Once you have selected a topic, narrow it down to suit your time allocated for the presentation.
