Anabolic steroids
Increase strength, increase muscle mass and decrease fat
Increase risk of heart disease and strokes, testicular atrophy for males (decrease in size) and increase facial hair for women

Causes body to make more red blood cells which boosts cardiovascular endurance because there is more oxygen being taken to the muscles
Used by cyclists and long distance runners
Blood doping
Removing blood then putting it back in when the red blood cells have been replaced so the body has more of them
Increase risk of heart disease, strokes or infections from dirty needles

Diuretics
Makes the body produce more urine to make an athlete lighter so they can 'make a weight'
Can lead to dehydration
Can be used to mask presence of other drugs by reducing urine concentration
