How can we know the origin of humanity?
Human evolution or hominization is a fascinating journey through millions of years.
How do we know? Thanks to scientists, some fantastic detectives of the past, who try to unravel a process that took place along hundreds of thousands of years. We still need know a lot, but every time we understand a little more how mankind was formed.

Australopithecus Year of appearance:
They appeared around 4 million years ago. Characteristics:There were around six species of them.
They were not able to speak like us, Their brain was no bigger than that of a chimpanzee.
Homo habilis Year of appearance:
They appeared around two million years ago Characteristics: They had a brain that was already half of ours. Their hands had the opposite thumb to the other fingers, they could grasp better.
Homo erectus Year of appearance:
Half a million year after the appearance of Homo Habilis
Characteristics:
Homo erectus had a brain size approaching that of modern humans.
The face was flat and the skull had prominent ridges over the brow.
Homo Sapiens Year of appearance:
200,000 years ago
Characteristics:
their brain was big, from 1,400 cc capacity.
The earliest Homo sapiens had bodies with short, slender trunks and long limbs
Expansion around the world Some paleontologists claim that it was the Erectus the one who left Africa a million years ago and that their descendants developed in different parts of Asia and Europe and became Sapiens.
