Long March
The journey the CPC took from Jiangxi Soviet to Ya'an to escape and survive from the GMD, where Mao consolidated its leadership in the CPC.
CPC
The Chinese Communist Party, a political party with radical policies that had Mao Zedong as his representative. It was founded in 1921 as a political part and a revolutionary movement.
Jiang Jieshi
Chinese Nationalist politician, revolutionary and military leader. Was the leader of the Republic of China between 1928 and 1975. Leader of the GMD
GMD
The Guomindang Party, translated as the Chinese Nationalist Party. Had three principles that were Nationalism, Democracy and the People's Livelihood, and the leader was Sun Yixian. (later Jiang Jieshi)
Mao Zedong
Was the Chinese communist revolutionary that lead the CPC and expanded communism along China. The leader that later overthrew the GMD party and Jiang Jieshi and ruled from 1949 until 1976,
Sun Yixian
Was a staunch Chinese patriot, also medical doctor, that created and lead the nationalist Guomindang party that seeked democracy (named Alliance League in the past).
First United Front
It was established in 1923. It was an alliance between Kuomintang and the Communist Party to end imperialism in China and the control of the warlords. Out of 41 seats the CPC was given 10. Because of this the CPC grew significantly.
White Terror
Is known as the purge in 1927 in Shanghai, from the GMD to the CPC. Over 5,000 Communists were executed
Jiangxi Soviet
An independent government established by Mao where he organized the peasants. The area that was given to Mao in Jiangxi (soviet), where the land was redistributed to the educated peasants with the communist ideology.
Second United Front
It was the alliance between the GMD (Guomindang) and the CPC (Communist) to defend and resist against the Japanese invasion.
Northern Expedition
An expedition and military campaign against warlordism in Chinese territories with the purpose to reunify China
