When we ask why this happened or which thing, most of the time the answer it is because something happened before that provoked it. For example, when we try to find out why is there a town or a city, we found out that, years ago, several people settled down in the place to live there. They built the houses for their families, and so, a village or city emerged. Additionally, we have also been curious, for example, to know how people traveled from one place to another when there were no planes or cars. The answer is that they did it on foot or riding on pack animals, and that the roads improved over time until they became highways. Many examples can be given, but the fact is that, to better know our reality present and to prepare for the future, it is necessary to know what happened before. To the science that tries to understand the past is called History.
