Teacher identifies student who may need help
Teacher gathers data on the student
Teacher meets with learning support coordinator/admin, to talk about what the teacher has tried and has being doing for the student
Resource teacher observes the student on multiple occasions
Did the strategies help the student enough?
If yes, great,you are done!
If no,create a step one plan
Step 1 Plan
New strategies and accommodations for the classroom are suggested and monitored for a minimum of 2-3 weeks including data collection
Teacher and Administrator complete the Step 1 Form with relevant background information and data included
After completion of the Step 1 Form, the school’s support team (could include Administrator, Learning Support Teacher, classroom teacher, and other relevant staff members), meet to review collected data and develop further strategies

School team meets with the family to discuss the proposed accommodations, strategies, and gain consent to work with the Learning Support Coordinator (LSC). If the school has an on-site Learning Support Teacher (LST), the LST will provide the services outlined below.
Contact the regional LSC/LST to discuss findings from the Step 1 Form and discuss next steps: Submit the Step 1 Form and related documents to the LSC/LST
Following the discussion, the Step 2 Form will be completed by either:The on-site Learning Support Teacher (LST) or The Regional LSC
After receiving the Step 2 Form, the school implements the proposed accommodations and strategies with regular check-ins with the LSC or LST.
If little to no progress is made:A revision of the Step 2 Form is completed ORThe LSC may recommend initiating a Step 3- Learning Support Plan
If little to no progress is made, initiate an Intervention Plan (Step 2) or a Learning Support Plan (Step 3).
