As a class group we will watch "Watch Uncle Graham Paulson talk about how colonisation has affected him personally". EAL/D students will be put into groups with students who can help appropriately scaffold their understandings.
Activity 4
To summarise the previous lessons students will view the first episode of my place. In this episode we meet Laura and her family who go to watch the live viewing of Kevin Rudd's apology. Students will brainstorm reasons that this speech would have been so moving for Laura and her family. Students will then right a responsive letter to Kevin Rudd. In this letter students will be assessed on their engagement with the speech and the importance of the speech to the Australian people both Indigenous and non-Indigenous. Students from EAL/D will be given the opportunity to record their speech orally if a written text is not appropriate.
