Reasons for outbreak of WWII.
Treaty of Versailles. (28th June 1919)
germany was pissed because they got screwed over in the treaty,
War guilt clause, reparations (£6600 million), military restrictions, loss of land.
Expansionist policies
Japan: 1931 - invades Manchuria. 1937 - invades China, December 7th 1941 - attacks Pearl harbour. Japan wanted to be a superpower.
Germany: wanted to return to former power before defeat in WWII. 1933 - Hitler comes to power. 1935 - reinstates conscription. 1936 - sends troops to Rhineland. 1938 - sends troops to Austria to get more lebensraum.
Italy: wants to get former glory (Roman Empire) Benito Mussolini. 1934 - claims part of Abyssinia (east Africa). League of nations tries for trade bans but doesn't stop Italy.
