INTRODUCTION TO COMMUNITY NUTRITION - Coggle Diagram

- - - - A community refers to all the various living things that live in a particular area
    - - The people living in a particular area; a group of people who have the same interests, religion etc
    - - All the people who live in a particular area, or a group of people who are considered as a unit because of their shared interests or background
    - - Community refers to a group of individuals and families living in a defined geographical area with sentiment of unity
    - - The people living in one particular area; or people who are considered as a unit because of their common interests, social group or nationality
  - - - The availability of facilities in a community that can create a “community feeling” and help to maintain inter-personal relationship. E.g. school, dispensaies, medical and other institutions
    - - Has a common set of social values which influence the formation of a organization hierarchy in a community. E.g. ownership of farm land, type of residences, religion, financial investment, education, position in government services
    - - Individual interest of the member of a community may differ, but there may be some common interest that unite the community people and develop a sense of belongings
    - - Possesses a distinctive territorial characteristics that implies a shared way of life. They have a sense of “we feeling” or “community feeling” or “community consciousness” and a strong feeling of “belongingness” to that particular area
    - - People with mutual dependence and cooperation. During their interaction, they come together to act so as to satisfy their needs in life
    - - Inhabited in a specific geographical area e.g. a village, a town, a city, a neighborhood or a district, a province, a state, a nation or the world
- - - - Is within a limit with its own identity
    - - The nucleus of other social organizations i.e. the whole social structure is built of family units
    - - The earliest social environment of all the higher forms of life
    - - More continuous and greater demands on its members than any other organization. Each family members need to take the responsibility to form and maintain the family organization
    - - Love, pride, affection, jealousy, economic security, possession
    - - Guarded by social taboos and by legal regulation for the regulation of social structure and discipline
    - - Found in all societies, at all stages of social development, and exists for below the human level (not only human, but animals too); almost every human being is or has been a member of some family
    - - While the institution of the family is so permanent and universal, the family as an organization is the most temporary and the most transitional of all important organizations in the society
  - - - Live with the groom’s/bride’s parent; or set up their own household independent of the parents/relatives
    - - People trace descent and transmit property through the male/female side of the family
    - - The family of orientation (family into which one is born); the family of procreation (enters in adulthood due to marriage)
    - - Father/ husband/ eldest male as the chief authority and decision maker
    - - Consanguinity; conjugal family
    - - Married to which they belong (caste, race, class); or out of a group
    - - THE EXTENDED OR JOINT FAMILY – Consists of several nuclear families joined by kinship relation (a group of 3 or more generations living together in the same house, street or locality).
      - TWO-GENERATION FAMILY – A nuclear family (parents and children).
    - - Monogomous or polygomous
  - - - Any combination of two or more persons who are bound together over time by ties of mutual consent, birth and/or adoption or placement and who, together, assume responsibilities for variant combinations of some of the following
        
        Physical maintenance and care of group members
        
        Addition of new members through procreation or adoption
        
        Socialization of children
        
        Social control of members
        
        Production, consumption, distribution of goods and services
        
        Affective nurturance – love
    - - A group of persons united by ties of marriage, blood or adoption, constituting a single household, interacting, and communicating with each other in their respective social roles of husband and wife, of son and daughter, mother and father, brother and sister, creating and maintaining a common culture
    - - A group defined by a sex relationship sufficiently precise, and enduring to provide for procreation and upbringing of children
    - - O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted.
    - - A social group characterized by common residence, economic cooperation and reproduction. It includes adults of both sexes at least two of whom maintain a socially approved sexual relationship and one or more children own or adopted of the sexually co-habiting adults
