Gallaudet has a strict set of beliefs and routines. Most of those Routines were born out of his beliefs, He raised his family on the bible and expected the family to abide by the bible. Gallaudet was in Association with several different Societies. This Chapter discusses in depth what those societies are and why the are of significance. Gallaudet, believed in Home schooling his children rather than sending them out to be taught due to what in my opinion is seen as corruption.
Gallaudet raised the money for the Evangelistic German Church, planned and organized the whole mission but also served in the purchased of 320 acres of land along side the Mississippi for the immigrants.
Gallaudet's affiliation with the Connecticut Peaci Society and volunteering shows that he was one to give back to his community which would explain why he helped with the EGC.

What Gallaudet did for this group of individuals is important, hes giving back to others. Making a positive name for himself and is getting more and more rights for people that come from different places in the world.

Given what ive read so far, it seems that Galludet has a plan not so sure what the plan is but i feel that it will change many situations for many, many people. Gallaudet working with all these different societies, i feel that he may have pulled little bit of every one and is going to form his own society, but for those who are in need of it.
There's several things that i do not agree with in this chapter, The changing of his Grandchild's name i didn't feel was very appropriate. The cookie cutter family expectations are absurd. However, His actions on helping others is commendable. He has taken an interest in the EGC and is doing exactly what he did with Alice Cogswell, he found his interest and he built something greater than He from that.
