Mayans
The people built terraces to trap silt from the small rivers. They grew corn, beans, squash, peppers, cassava, and cacao
they developed an elaborate and sophisticated writing system. It was the most advanced in Mesoamerica.
Mayans were unique among the ancient civilisations to be able to trace the movements of celestial bodies with exceptional accuracy, using their own mathematics and writing system.
They used trading to make money
human sacrifice in Maya culture was the ritual offering of nourishment to the gods. Blood was viewed as a potent source of nourishment for the Maya deities, and the sacrifice of a living creature was a powerful blood offering.
Olmecs
The Olmecs ("rubber people") lasted from about 1400 BCE to 100 BCE

The Olmecs buildings were simple; rectangular residences for commoners, bigger houses for the elite, as well as public ceremonial buildings such as temples and pyramids.

the Aztecs began to dominate Mesoamerica in the 14th century, they craved cacao beans, this was the heart of their civilization.
Many Aztecs died of smallpox.
Aztec science relied heavily on math, such as the design of their calendar.
The Aztec number system was far more advanced than other cultures at the time.
conquered the Aztec Empire. Hernán Cortés was a Spanish conquistador, or conqueror, best remembered for conquering the Aztec empire in 1521 and claiming Mexico for Spain. He also helped colonize Cuba and became a governor of New Spain.
