Politics: political stability, no inter-union rivalry, establish and maintain true industrial democracy

Unilateral: decision making made by one party (employer)
Bilateral: decision making made by two parties (employer and employees)
Tripartitate: decision making made with the interventation of government
Effects of harmonious IR to employees and employers:
Employees: increased motivation, increased productivity, increase loyalty
Employers: increased profit, give more time and attention to improve organization operation, provide better benefits for employees
Effects on non harmonious IR:
unhealthy working condition
inadequate fixation of wage or wage structur
dispute on sharing the gains of productivity
lack of human relations skill on the part of supervisors and other managers
Characteristics of non harmonious IR: low-grade production, negligence in the execution of work, absenteeism, high cost of production
