        This separation of conservation and human right appears, to be wholly unacceptable, in terms of sustainability. We cannot say host communities are all important, but ignore them if there is also wildlife in the area which outsiders say is very important, apparently more important than the rights of the indigenous population
  - - - The irony is that the Maasai themselves lived alongside the animals and their activities and were no threat to the future of the wildlife
        
        Few conservation bodies consulted the Maasai before making decision that affected their lives
        
        It is clear not morally right to move powerless tribespeople of their lands to accommodate the demands of tourists who want to see the wildlife
        
        Perhaps the solution is for the Maasai to be permitted to become more actively involved in tourism so that they can gain more benefits from tourism (i.e. organise walking safaris for tourists
