Physical Exam

Strength Testing/power
4 in dorsiflexion, 5 in plantar flexion, 3 in eversion, 5 in inversion

Special tests
positive anterior drawer test, positive talar tilt test into inversion
Inspection
swelling at lateral aspect of ankle, inability to weight bare w/o pain, ecchymosis

Grading Muscle Strength
3- Strength further reduced such that joint can be moved only against gravity with examiner's resistance completely removed
-
4- Strength reduced, but contraction can still move joint against resistance
1- Only a trace or flicker of mvmt is seen or felt, or fasiculations are observed

Ankle Dislocation

Requires reduction, imaging, and further medical attention

Plantar Fasciitis

May be called "fasciosis or fasciopathy", but plantar fasciitis is still commonplace
